Dearest Gee.

Got your Sept. 20 letter today and two v-mails, one from Dad and one from Mom. Your letters along in there are full of bad news. I have received some v-mails from you with the later dates that were better tho. I sure do hope your hip gets itself ironed out tho. Guess we’ll both have to sweat this war out and then see what can be done. For one thing sure I don’t want you to work. We made a mistake there when we first started off but sometimes your working sho’ helped, didn’t it, kid? We’ll just have to hope that doesn’t happen anymore.

I owe Bernadine a letter and Carrie if I have time tonight I’ll see if it can be done.

Finished off the candy bars you sent and am working on the cheese crackers now. The tamales haven’t been taken care of yet but they will be.

For Lords Sakes tell my mom to quit sending me money. I got a letter from her with a buck in it. You can tell her I can’t use it as it’s against the law (which it is). I could take it to the finance and get it exchanged but don’t know when I’d get there. There’s nothing I need but a discharge and you.

Well, kid, I just haven’t a thing to write about. Didn’t get a letter yesterday and didn’t write any so I figured I’d better today.

Hope I see you soon but not much hopes. Sure love you and miss you.

So long.
