Dearest Gee.
Received your March 2 and March 5 letters today. First I’ve gotten from you for four or five days so I was glad to get them. Also got an Easter card from Jennie with a note on the back. Please thank her for me. It was a cute card. While I’m on the thanking mood I gotta thank you for those two very fine packages I got yesterday. They both were chuck full of candles and one had three candy bars in [it] and a can of very fittin’ cookies. Everything is gone but the candles today and the boys all said thanks. That helps me a lot. Sure have me a supply of candles now and that’s for sure. Also got a letter from Erv yesterday too.
So you went to Chicago with Jennie. Sounds like you didn’t have any too good a time. Riding on those trains sure must be bad nowadays. I should think you wouldn’t even want to make the trip for that reason. Can’t keep a good civilian down tho — can they, honey?
I’ll limit this to two pages and include eight more negatives. Maybe I’ll eventually get them all there. If I put more than that in it makes the letter too bulky. They are all pictures of Nice or near there anyway.
So Erv met up with two of our guys. He was partly right but not completely. I’ll tell you all about it someday. Next time I see you to be exact. Hope that is soon. I’m getting awful lonesome for you.
I don’t have much more to add to this so I’d better start shutting my big mouth. I was relieved to hear everyone is doing okay at home. I sure love you, honey, and miss you.
So long now.
