Dearest Gee.

Well, honey, I received your swell box of candy and funny books the other day. They sure we’re appreciated. I think the candy is the best of all with the funny books ranking a close second. Also got three nice cards. Yours, Joannie’s, and one from Jenny and Joe. Today I got three letters, two v-mails and one regular air mail. The air mail and one v-mail was from you and the other one from Mildred C. Mildred was saying something about you having gone to Chicago but you didn’t say anything about it and both letters were dated Feb. 7. I expect you sent a special jobby and it hasn’t arrived yet. I’m fine so far. Sure hope you guys are too. Haven’t heard from Chick yet. I wonder how he is. Guess you know by now we are on the Anzio-Nettuno beachhead. The rest you can read in the papers. Sure do miss you. Am glad you and Jack + Hilah and Mildred got together for a little session. I think I owe them all about a dozen letters. Maybe someday I’ll catch up again. Haven’t got any loose pork chops laying around, have you? If you can I sure would like some more candy bars. Sure do love you and miss you. Be good.

So long now.
