Dearest Gee.
Received your nice letter of Nov. 14 today. The first one in almost a week. Boy, I’ve been hurting for mail. Also got a nice Christmas card from the Hines. She wrote me a little note at the bottom. Can’t understand about the mail. Packages seem to be coming through okay but not 1st class mail.
The cigarette shortage has hit us to kid. We are rationed to a pack a day. It used to be when we had P.X. rations we could buy cigarettes but no more. We received our P.X. rations today and it was all free. Don’t know what got into them. We got 3 cigars, 6 candy bars, soap, lemon snaps, and three bottles of U.S. beer! Boy did that beer ever hit the spot. Also got some chewing gum and they had other stuff that I didn’t need. Not only that but we got paid today too. A whole twenty-five dollars for me. That’s about the same as going to town with five. I owed five hundred francs (10 bucks) so that knocked a hole in it.
So Mildred is getting you all excited about the Christmas presents already huh? I’ll bet for her. Yes, you should have two packages, only one isn’t exactly a package. It’s supposed to be your Christmas presents. You’ll know who to give them to. I think I told you once.
I’m including another eight pictures. Hope you got the last two batches okay.
I want to send you the power of attorney as soon as I get it fixed up. Guess I’ll have to roll it as it’s too big to send flat.
Was glad to hear you are doing better with the treatments. Hope you get along so well you don’t ever have to go back.
Lord, I sure miss you, honey, and wonder when I’ll get to see you again. Sure would like to be with you again.
We took several more pictures of the guys with Doug’s camera but I haven’t taken very many lately. I have one roll being developed now. Will send them as soon as I can. Let me know if you get them all.
Well, honey, looks like the end is about here so gotta stop now. Can’t think of anything more to say. I sure love you and miss you.
So long now.
