Dearest Gee.

Haven’t had any letters now for a few days. I expect to get some of those packages pretty soon now. Some of the fellows have started to get some. Oh happy day. Say, Gwendolyn, you’re not going out drinking with soldiers, are you? I read one of the letters you sent Chick about your having a hangover and got to wondering. I don’t think you are, at least I hope not.

Wrote Erv a long letter the other night. His mail only takes about a week to get here as I’m writing him regular letters in place of v-mail.

Is there anyone around that’s in the know as to when this here war is going to be over? Think I’ve seen enough country to last quite awhile so I’m ready to come home now any time they give the signal. Of course, if they insist guess I’ll hang around a while longer.

Sent Jack and Hilah one of my Xmas cards last night. It will be late but you know the old saying.

Have you heard the news from Chick? I’ll let him tell you all about it. It should help you all out considerably. Tell Joannie she can stop her worrying now.

Well, I’d like to write more but you know the censor’s motto “It shall not pass.” Running out of paper here anyway. I’m still fine and hope you’re the same. See you all next year. I sure love you and miss you.

So long now.
